ABSTRACT:

Deblurring has applications in many fields including medical imaging, 
digital communication, and optical memory. We describe a 2D Viterbi
algorithm and characterize its performance in the restoration of black and
white images degraded by space-variant intersymbol interference and
additive white Gaussian noise. Results are presented for random images and 
text.
