Vector Quantization-Based Image Processing
Vector Quantization (VQ) is generally considered a compression technique.
It has been used with considerable success to compress signals such as
speech, imagery, and video. In this work, attempts are being made to combine
VQ with image processing tasks such as restoration/super-resolution, blur
identification, and denoising. The advantages of using VQ for an image
processing task could include simulataneous compression, computational
gain, and/or the inherent nonlinearity.
